"Absence/ desire 3+9+19", 1m2 lambda prints, each an edition of 5

Using photography as a tool to gather evidence this series manifests itself as square images; a building block system used to put images together and give an equal value to each image. The square format is used to give the work neither portrait nor landscape status. Each image is made to be seen on its own but also to allow for further investigation as narrative images. So far, this has meant that the works may be seen isolated, as diptychs and triptychs. As the project manifests, so does the grouping.
These images are visual investigations of absence and desire. The work explores the clichés of love and longing: sunsets, moonlit skies, phallic symbolism, and images of a woman's body. These clichés are undercut by making the beauty of the pictorial landscape slightly sinister.

"I don't need you" 1m2 lambda prints, edition of 5

The I don’t need you series is a response to the contradictory nature of desire: the desire to show you don’t need someone, but also the underlying desire to want someone and for someone to want you. The images show the moment of climax, a visual record of self pleasure but the alluring nature of the images betray the desire to be desired.
