Nature for me has become the emotional backdrop to my daily life. As a city dweller I cannot gaze up at the stars as our pollution obscures them, so I end up looking at the many cranes dotted around our city. Somehow the ever changing sky provides these unlikely objects with a romanticism that I obviously crave. When visiting the countryside and the light is right I seek to collect the images I see before me. The images are visual investigations of absence and desire, cliches of romantic imagery: moonlit skies and sunsets are reoccurring themes.

My mobile phone is the smallest lens I use. Often it is the only camera I have on me. I've begun to see it as a producer of miniatures. Memento's of wonders seen.
